The Island Trees Business Department is introducing a new course for the 2026-2027 school year. The class is called  FOUNDATIONS OF ENTREPRENEURSHIP.   It will be a 1/2 year course.  It will be open to students Grades 9-12. The course will also be offered for college credit as well.

FOUNDATIONS OF ENTREPRENEURSHIP is a course  where students will learn and apply the 4P’s of marketing (Product, Price, Promotion and Place).  Each student in class will be creating a grassroots t-shirt company with the goal of actually producing and selling their designed t-shirt.  The course will test and highlight the creativity, technological skills, communication skills and business intuitions of each student. Effort and critical thinking will work hand in hand in this course.

With the work place changing rapidly it is important for students to develop the soft skills and technology skills demanded in today’s business environment. As our technology get faster and smarter, it is an exciting time for our students to prepare for their future.

Be sure to mention to your guidance counselor during scheduling if you are interested in any of the business courses here at Island Trees.  Also be on the look out for AP BUSINESS WITH PERSONAL FINANCE coming for 2027-2028 school year.
